Monster Girl / モンスター娘 exists for this purpose. While it doesn't apply to some races like elves, the demand for an overarching non-human tag more inclusive than Monster Girl doesn't really compare to the truly ridiculous amount of tagging maintenance it would require.

Also: new tags should always be discussed, maybe on forum, preferably on our discord server, Its a huge waste of time for both taggers and moderators if people go all in on a tag that ends up rejected.

Tags have to be discussed in order to keep tagging more manageable for uploaders and taggers, tags should be unique when compared to existing tags, tags that are a subcategory or combination of existing tags only when content and specific demand for them is common enough for them to stand by themselves, while overarching tags (like this would have been) are a hard sell because they only remove a layer of specificity instead of adding anything and it takes a stupendous amount of work to maintain them. On top of being reasonably distinct, new tags should also have reasonable demand for them, the right size; not too large for taggers to handle (Anal Intercourse for example has been vetoed because it would take an unreasonable amount of work to retroactively apply it to all existing galleries that need it) but also not too niche to even find good examples for (though some exceptions have been made like Male Pregnancy, the bar is set a lot lower when exhentai already uses the tag). And having to argue to prove all these boxes have been checked also ensures you're passionate enough to take good care of the tag, because its not gonna tag itself on new uploads and uploaders aren't exactly reliable when it comes to learning/remembering new tags to apply manually we have to rely on whomever suggested the tag being willing to do most if not all of the work making sure it's applied correctly to both older and future galleries. In this case I estimate the non-human girl tag would have needed somewhere between 2000-3000 edits to catch up existing galleries, as someone who has done mass edits of this scale a few times I can assure you it takes a lot of persistence to see that through to the end.
